Despite what you might see on your social feeds, AI tools aren’t a single-click solution when it comes to complex content creation like presentations. The number of moving parts and asset types that you need for a PowerPoint file often sends AI tools in a tailspin of 90s design and repetitive layouts. Where it is possible to teach your brand to your tool (Copilot users I’m looking at you), the results can still be hit and miss.

That means every piece of content you make with AI needs checking. But what do you check? An efficient way to evaluate generated content will be key to ensuring you don’t spend the time you juts saved in creation, picking over every element in your new slide.

This is why we developed the AI evaluation checklist for presentation creators. It’s a two-part on-the-go check to enable you to pulse check the message and design of your AI-created content so that you can make fast, targeted changes, instead of having to rework your slide manually, re-generate your slide and use up all your tokens, or refill your coffee one too many times in an afternoon.

The framework goes a little something like this…

Check the message in your AI-generated presentation content for:

  • Accuracy: what has your tool added or taken away?
  • Audience: is the content relevant to your target audience?
  • Action: is there a clear call-to-action?

Check the design in your AI-generated presentation content for:

  • Arrangement: does the slide need neatening up?
  • Assets: swap out any low-fidelity or off-brand icons and images.
  • Accessibility: make sure your content is legible to everyone. More accessibility resources here.
