If you face an issue when using our PKG installer, these instructions provide you with an alternative way to manually install & uninstall BrightSlide on your Mac.

Install

Part 1 – create folders and copy files

1. Open Finder. Hold the alt key, click Go followed by Library
2. Navigate to ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.microsoft.Powerpoint and if it doesn’t exist, create the com.microsoft.Powerpoint folder
   • Press ctrl+cmd+t to add a Sidebar shortcut in Finder
   • Right click this link and click Save Link As… and save the resulting BrightSlide.scpt file into this folder by clicking the shortcut in the Sidebar
3. Navigate to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content
   • Create a folder called Add-Ins if it doesn’t exist and within that, another called BrightSlide
   • Navigate to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Add-Ins/BrightSlide
   • Press ctrl+cmd+t to add a Sidebar shortcut in Finder
   • Download and save BrightSlide.ppam into this folder by clicking the shortcut in the Sidebar
4. Remove the two Sidebar shortcuts by right clicking on them followed by Remove from Sidebar

Part 2 – add BrightSlide to PowerPoint

1. In Finder, navigate to the same BrightSlide folder you created in step 6 above
2. Double click the BrightSlide.ppam file to open it in PowerPoint
3. Click Enable Macros followed by Turn Off when asked
4. BrightSlide will then be ready to download the rest of the application by clicking Go!
5. Click Tools/ Macro / Visual Basic Editor
6. Press ctrl+cmd+g to show the Immediate pane
7. Copy and paste the following command into the Immediate pane and press return

   AddIns("BrightSlide").AutoLoad=msoTrue

8. Close the Visual Basic Editor window and you’re done!

You can now register BrightSlide to activate and enjoy all it has to offer.

Uninstall

To uninstall BrightSlide for macOS, follow these steps:

1. Start PowerPoint
2. Click Tools / PowerPoint Add-ins…
3. Select BrightSlide and click the [-] icon followed by ok
4. Open Finder and navigate to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Add-Ins/
5. Delete the BrightSlide folder
6. Navigate to ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.microsoft.Powerpoint
7. Delete the BrightSlide.scpt file
